PESTA PAYANAM THODARUM 2024 marked a landmark year for the Payanam Thodarum movement, expanding its reach across Malaysia through three major productions in three different states. Supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC) , the festival celebrated musical diversity while providing greater performance opportunities for Malaysia’s promising teenage talents.
The festival commenced with Payanam Thodarum – Vanakkam Melaka, presented in collaboration with JKKN Negeri Melaka , bringing together local talents in a celebration of music and culture. This was followed by Payanam Thodarum 6.0 in Selangor, which continued the platform’s mission of nurturing young performers through professional live concert experiences. The festival concluded with Payanam Thodarum 7.0 – Go Carnatic in Kuala Lumpur, introducing audiences to the richness of Carnatic music while showcasing the versatility of Malaysia’s emerging artists.
Each production embraced a unique musical identity, introducing audiences to different genres and demonstrating the versatility of the young performers. PESTA PAYANAM THODARUM 2024 not only celebrated artistic excellence but also strengthened the movement’s vision of preserving cultural heritage, promoting musical diversity, and creating meaningful platforms for the next generation of Malaysian performing artists.
